My hat studio, J. Haskell Hats, was established in Elmira, New York in 1990 as the natural
result of my life-long love affair with hats and my fascination for working with fibers of all kinds.
Hats are the ultimate personal expression and provide the perfect punctuation for our
wardrobes. Hat purposes and styles are as individual as the people who wear them. Hats are for warmth, for shade, for work, for sport, for protection, for health, for events, for ceremony, for
intrigue, for propriety, for outrageousness, for bad hair days.....for always!

My hats are handmade from the finest fibers available including cotton, wool, silk, rayon,
hemp, acryllic, chenille, nylon, jelly-cord, lurex, viscose and blends of all sorts. They are designed for comfort, style, easy packability and care.
In addition to my own business I am a staff member and buyer for Fibers And Fantasy, a
distinctive, contemporary art-to-wear and craft gallery in Ithaca, New York. The store provides an atmosphere of exciting creative challenge where I design custom ordered hats to coordinate with special occasion outfits produced by a large variety of local and international fiber artists. Due to the internet my hats are now selling world-wide.
Please enjoy browsing among the hats and handbags pictured on my website and feel free to contact me for any further information.
